IIDST is committed to providing high-quality education and training to its students. However, we understand that unforeseen circumstances may necessitate the cancellation of enrollment. This policy outlines the terms and conditions governing cancellations, refunds, and financial obligations related to program fees at IIDST.
By enrolling in an IIDST program, students agree to abide by this cancellation and refund policy, which ensures fairness and transparency in handling such requests.
General Principles
- All students are required to carefully read and understand this policy before proceeding with enrollment.
- Refunds are processed based on the time elapsed from the official batch commencement date.
- Refund requests must be formally submitted via email to the IIDST program office along with necessary documentation.
- No refund will be provided for students who have availed of discounts, scholarships, or financial assistance through third-party institutions unless explicitly stated.
- IIDST reserves the right to revise this policy at its sole discretion. Changes will be communicated through official channels.
Cancellation and Refund Structure
Cancellations within 25 Days from Batch Commencement
- If a cancellation request is received within 25 days from the batch commencement date, IIDST will refund 100% of the paid amount so far.
- This refund policy is not applicable to batch change cases. If a student opts for a batch change, they forfeit their right to a full refund.
- Refunds will be processed within 45 business days after approval of the cancellation request.
Cancellations Between the 26th and 90th Day from Batch Commencement
- If a cancellation request is received between the 26th day and the 90th day from the batch commencement date, the student will be liable to pay a fee on a pro-rata basis for the number of months passed since enrollment.
- The amount payable will be based on the AcademiX Track fee agreed upon at the time of enrollment.
- Any refund (if applicable) will be calculated after deducting the pro-rata fee from the total amount of AcademiX Track agreed at the time of enrolment.
- The refund (if applicable) will be processed within 45 business days.
Understanding the Cancellation Fee Calculation based on AcademiX Track
Let's say a student enrolled in the AcademiX Track program with an agreed fee of ₹60,000. If the student requests a cancellation on the 72nd day from batch commencement and 99th day from enrolment, the cancellation fee will be calculated as follows:
Step 1: Determine the Total Fee
Total AcademiX Track Fee: ₹60,000
Step 2: Calculate the Pro-Rata Fee
The total duration that has passed since enrolment is 99 days, which is a little over 3 months. As a result, we round it up to 4 months.
Pro-rata Fee (for 4 months): ₹20,000
Step 3: Include Additional Charges (if applicable)
TheIf the student has taken a loan or has incurred other administrative costs, additional charges will be added to the cancellation fee. These may include:
- Loan Interest
- Processing Fee
- Other miscellaneous fees
Step 4: Calculate the Final Amount Payable
The total cancellation fee the student must pay will be:
Total Cancellation Charges Payable = Pro-rata Fee + Additional Charges
Thus, the student will need to pay ₹20,000 plus any applicable loan interest, processing fees, or other charges.
After deducting the above mentioned amount, IIDST will refund the remaining amount. If any amount liable on student, then the student will be asked to pay the remaining amount within 7 business days.
Cancellations After 90 Days from Batch Commencement
- If a cancellation request is received after the 90th day from batch commencement, the student will be liable to pay a fee on a pro-rata basis for the number of months passed since enrollment.
- The amount payable will be calculated based on the total program fee (AcademiX Track Fee + CareerX Track Fee) agreed upon at the time of enrollment.
- No refund will be provided if the pro-rata calculation results in a balance due from the student.
- The refund (if applicable) will be processed within 45 business days.
Understanding the Cancellation Fee Calculation for Total Program Fee including both AcademiX Track & CareerX Track
Let's consider a student who enrolled in both AcademiX Track and CareerX Track programs. The fees for these programs were agreed upon as follows:
- AcademiX Track Fee: ₹60,000
- CareerX Track Fee: ₹2,00,000
- Total Program Fee: ₹60,000 + ₹2,00,000 = ₹2,60,000
The student requested a cancellation on the 142nd day from batch commencement and 169th day from enrolment.
Step 1: Determine the Total Duration Passed
The total time since enrolment is 169 days, which is slightly more than 5 months, so we round it up to 6 months.
Step 2: Calculate the Pro-Rata Fee
Since 6 months have passed, the pro-rata fee is calculated as:
Pro-rata Fee (for 6 months): ₹1,30,000
Step 3: Include Additional Charges (if applicable)
If the student has taken a loan or has incurred other administrative costs, additional charges will be added to the cancellation fee. These may include:
- Loan Interest
- Processing Fee
- Other miscellaneous fees
Step 4: Calculate the Final Amount Payable
The total cancellation fee the student must pay will be:
Total Cancellation Charges Payable = Pro-rata Fee + Additional Charges
Thus, the student will need to pay ₹1,30,000 plus any applicable loan interest, processing fees, or other charges.
After deducting the above mentioned amount, IIDST will refund the remaining amount. If any amount liable on student, then the student will be asked to pay the remaining amount within 7 business days.
Cancellations After Signing the ISA (Income Sharing Agreement)
- If a student has signed an Income Sharing Agreement (ISA), they are liable to pay the entire program fee, including both AcademiX Track Fee + CareerX Track Fee as per the agreed terms.
- No refund will be provided in such cases.
- Any disputes regarding the ISA must be addressed directly with the relevant financial institution if applicable.
If any amount liable on student, then the student will be asked to pay the remaining amount within 7 business days.
Financial Assistance and Third-Party Loan Repayment
To facilitate students in paying program fees, IIDST may introduce them to third-party Banking and Financial Institutions. Such financial assistance is entirely voluntary, and IIDST acts neither as an agent nor as a representative of these institutions.
If a student cancels their enrollment after availing a loan, they will be required to:
- Repay any interest charges, processing fees, and miscellaneous fees levied by the financial institution.
- Follow the refund structure mentioned in Sections above in addition to financial charges from the lending institution.
- Settle any outstanding dues as per the agreed loan terms.
IIDST shall not be responsible for any agreements made between the student and such institutions, nor will it mediate in any disputes arising from loan agreements.
Payment Methods and Restrictions
- IIDST may not support all payment methods, currencies, or locations for payment.
- Payment must be made through authorized channels, including online payment gateways, bank transfers, or any other mode approved by IIDST.
- Any failed transactions, bank charges, or additional fees levied by payment processors shall be borne by the student.
Exceptional Cases
In certain exceptional circumstances, IIDST may consider partial refunds or fee waivers, including:
- Medical emergencies (requiring official medical documentation).
- Bereavement in the immediate family (requiring supporting evidence).
- Government-mandated travel restrictions or force majeure events.
Such cases will be reviewed on an individual basis, and the final decision will rest solely with IIDST’s management.
How to Request a Cancellation
- Submit a formal request via email to the IIDST program office.
- Include all necessary details:
- Full name and enrollment ID.
- Date of enrollment and batch details.
- Reason for cancellation.
- Supporting documents (if applicable).
- Wait for an official confirmation from IIDST.
- Refunds, if applicable, will be processed within the stipulated timelines as per Sections above.
